A report earlier today claimed that the phablet-sized version of the next iPhone and the iWatch could be launched in December.
However, according to 9to5Mac’s Ben Lovejoy this doesn’t seem probable at all.
Firstly, he argues that it isn’t in Apple’s tradition to announce a new product in December.
This is because of the fact that holiday gift purchases have already been made by that time and for those who would opt for gadgets there is Black Friday which falls on 28th November this year.
The launch of the 27-inch iMacs and Mac Pro in December was likely caused by production delays, he writes, especially as this type of professional machines are hardly affected by holiday shopping.
Last week 9to5Mac reported that Cupertino hasn’t made a final decision regarding the 5.5-inch iPhone.
The 4.7-inch model is reportedly at a more advanced stage, with tests completed and production started.
