A set of schematics of the iPhone 6 was published on Weibo by GeekBar on Monday and it seems to suggest that the smartphone will bring NFC capabilities.
The first picture is a description of a NAND flash component and it could be an indicator of an NFC chip.
The second has the ‘PN65V’ model number. The fabrication of the chip has been assigned to NXP Semiconductors, the same foundry that provided the M7 co-processor for the iPhone 5S.
Apple has long been rumored to be working on a way to make payments with the iPhone possible.
We will see whether the rumor is true on September 9 when Apple is likely to announce its new smartphone.
