According to a leaked photo of the iPhone 6’s logic board posted by GeekBar on Weibo, the smartphone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s MDM9625 LTE modem.
The said category 4 chip supports the latest LTE-A (or LTE Advanced) networks, with speeds of up to 150 MBPS.
This chip is distinguished by a 50% higher speed and lower consumption when compared to the MDM9615 (category 3) on the iPhone 5S and 5C.
Thanks to the fact that the modem is built through 28-nanometer production process, the MDM9625 can operate at higher speeds, while maintaining a low temperature.
Another leak by GeekBar showed the schematic of the next-generation iPhone that suggested the device could integrate NFC technology.
