iPhone 6 apparently confirmed by China Telecom ad

China Telecom has apparently confirmed the iPhone 6 with an image of the smartphone posted on Chinese social network Weibo, according to a Sina News report [via ZDNet].

The operator disclosed what should be the first official image of the device, alongside confirmation that it arrives in stores in the Asian country later this year.

The ad shows the new iPhone in dark gray, gold and silver colors, and different from its predecessors as it will have more rounded shapes.

The post announced that China Telecom will sell the iPhone 6 with support for a large array of cellular networks available in the country, including TDD-LTE, FDD-LTE, WCDMA, CDMA2000, GSM, and CDMA1X.

In addition, the smartphone will be unlocked, making it possible for customers to use it with SIM cards from other carrier networks.

The image has since been removed from Weibo, which may suggest the Chinese operator published it by mistake.
