According to a Digitimes report, Apple plans to ship 80 million copies of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus by the end of 2014.
Until the end of September the company plans to sell 10 million smartphones, while another 70 million will be sold in the fourth quarter.
Last year Apple sold 9 million iPhone S and 5C devices in the debut weekend.
Back in July the Wall Street Journal suggested that Apple intends to sell a huge amount of iPhone 6 units and that the prediction seems to be coming true.
Earlier rumors claimed that the iPhone 6 could face production challenges.
Pre-order for both models start tomorrow, with the smartphones available for sale in stores on Friday 19th.
