12.9-inch iPad Pro rumored to bring more powerful A8X processor

According to Taiwan’s TechNews [via GforGames], Apple could equip the rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro with an A8X chip.

The A8X model is an evolution of the A8 chip used on both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with improved graphics in order to handle the higher resolution of a 12.9-inch display.

The company seems to be applying an old habit of equipping its tablets with more powerful processors than that the iPhone while keeping the same CPU, sometimes running at a higher graphics.

The same source claims that the new iPad Pro will be equipped with 2GB of RAM, compared to only GB that is present in all tablets released by Apple up to now.

The 12.9-inch tablet is rumored to be planned for launch in early 2015.
