The singer and her team have confirmed the postponement of the release of her next album.
“There will not be a further new release by Adele during 2014 and consequently there will be a fall in XL’s turnover and profits,” a statement in the financial report of her record label XL Recordings read, The New York Times reports.
The 26-year-old singer was rumored to be working on a new album, reportedly called “25”, before the end of the year.
Adele herself fueled rumors when she tweeted message on her birthday in May: “Bye bye 25… See you again later in the year.”
According to the New York Times, the singer’s previous collaborators, such as songwriter and producer Ryan Tedder, have confirmed that they are working with her but nothing has come to light yet.
