Katy Perry was chosen by the National Football League (NFL) to perform at the Feb. 1, 2015 Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show, according to Billboard.
Reports surfaced in August claiming that the NFL sought to pay artists to play at the Super Bowl.
“I’m not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl,” Perry recently said on ESPN’s College Game Day.
Last year, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed their hits in front of 111.5 million viewers.
Katy Perry was chosen from several artists, with the selection including Coldplay and Rihanna.
