During a Facebook Q&A on Saturday, a fan asked Katherine Heigl what she thought about rumors claiming that she is “very rude.”
“I’ve heard rumors that your very rude. What’s your thoughts?” the fan asked.
“Yeah I’ve heard those too…honestly I don’t think I am…nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someones feelings and I would never, ever actively do so on purpose,” the State of Affairs actress responded.
“Of course just like any human being I’ve made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right. That doesn’t mean I won’t stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don’t do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to,” she explained.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month, Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes refered to Heigl when speaking about the Scandal cast: “There are no Heigls in this situation…I don’t put up with bulls–t or nasty people. I don’t have time for it.”
Six years ago Heigl came under fire when she said that her character in Grey’s Anatomy didn’t receive the suited material “to warrant a nomination” at the Emmys.
In July, the 35-year-old actress opened up to UK’s Marie Claire about the tough times in her career.
“The thing that was my best friend for a long time, [my career], suddenly turned on me and I didn’t expect it. I was taken by surprise and angry at it for betraying me,” she said then.
“I had a moment where, I don’t know, I was thinking, ‘Maybe open a knitting store, get my money out of retirement accounts and live off that, live off the land.’ I had my moment where it all seemed so complicated and all I wanted to do was simplify,” Heigl added.
