Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors: metal frame, not unibody, glass rear panel

Galaxy S6 concept

According to Korean tech site DDaily [via GforGames], a “Samsung Electronics official” said that neither the Galaxy S6 nor the Galaxy S6 Edge will come with a metal unibody chassis.

The aluminum will reportedly be used only for the frame, similar to the Note 4 or Alpha, and the back panel will be made of glass.

The choice would be motivated by the fact that Samsung doesn’t want to have too many devices similar to those of the Galaxy A range.

Both smartphones are also said to be equipped with non-removable batteries.

The new design would mark a change for Samsung who has stuck to plastic for its casings so far.
