With the iPhone 6, the Cupertino company relied on Taiwanese manufacturer TSMC as the sole supplier of processors.
According to South Korean newspaper Maeil Business (via Reuters), who cites sources in the field of semiconductors, Samsung Electronics is responsible for 75% of the stock of the next iPhone processors.
The processors will reportedly be manufactured at Apple’s factory in Austin, Texas.
In December, Korean site Electronic Times reported that Samsung had started production of the A9 processor using their 14nm FinFET technology.
Neither Apple nor Samsung have commented on this rumor.
