Samsung’s camera R&D chief DongHoon Jang wrote in a recent blog post that the rumored Galaxy S6 will pack an ‘amazing camera.’
Jang talked about the progress that the company has made in the field cameras in recent years.
According to him, the new Galaxy S6 camera “will be intelligent and do all the thinking for users, allowing them to take amazing pictures under any conditions, without having to worry about anything more than just pressing the shutter button.”
Jang believes the Korean company will not only concentrate the rear camera with the new S6, but also on the front, widely used today more than ever with the popularization of selfies.
“While earlier front-facing cameras were regarded as an “extra”, superfluous to the “main” camera on the rear, this is clearly no longer the case anymore,” he wrote.
Jang describes the progression of the megapixel count on Samsung’s cameras since release of the Galaxy S.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg writes that Samsung plans to launch two S6 variants – a standard one and an Edge one with three curved screen sides. Both will have a screen of 5.1 inches.
