Apple wants to integrate a fingerprint sensor in the upcoming Macs, according to a report by Taiwanese website Apple.club.tw.
Cupertino could integrate the Touch ID sensor on the next generation MacBook Pro and Air, as well as future versions of the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.
According to the report, the integration of the Touch ID in these products would allow Apple to increase its presence in the field of mobile payments.
However, there are several obstacles that Apple would need to look at, including the security of Bluetooth transmissions to the computer and the space available in the MacBook to integrate the equipment.
