The new iPhone 6s could be equipped with the Force Touch technology, AppleInsider reports.

Force Touch will be used in the Apple Watch. The electronics can differentiate whether the user presses the screen lightly or firmly and can therefore react differently.

Apple has already called this feature the “most significant new sensing capability since Multi-Touch.”

According to the site’s sources, the new technical solution has already been tested on some laboratory prototypes.

The reports also claims that, contrary to recent rumors, the camera of the iPhone 6s won’t be equipped with a dual-lens camera system but will merely sport the single lens solution already seen on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The proposal may have been rejected for aesthetic reasons, in particular in order to avoid damaging the thin profile of the smartphone.
