Royal baby: Kate Middleton and Prince William’s baby girl generated over 1.1 million tweets

The royal couple’s second child has generated more tweets on her birth than her older brother Prince George.

In 2013, when the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her first child, Twitter recorded 900,000 tweets.

However, according to The Telegraph, the increased number of tweets could have to do with the fact that Twitter currently has 300 million active users each month, compared to 240 million in 2013.

Kate and William welcomed daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana on Saturday, May 2. On Tuesday, May 5, Queen Elizabeth II met her great-granddaughter Princess Charlotte.
