But during the announcement of Princess Charlotte’s birth, Hutt was in the bathroom changing into his Union Jack outfit.
“When the announcement came, I was in the toilet changing into my suit,” he said.
“I heard all the screams go up, so I ran outside with my suit in my hand and jumped back onto the bench,” he added.
The royal fan celebrated his 80th birthday on April 30 while waiting for Kate to give birth, and on the occasion he received a birthday cake and a card from Kensington Palace.
“Dear Terry, this comes with our best wishes on your 80th birthday, from the team at Kensington Palace,” the hand-written letter reads.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana on May 2.
