“The Queen and Prince Philip and Prince Charles are absolutely delighted they have a grandchild and great-grandchild – and of course it is an heir and spare,” a source told People.
The little Princess has been visited by her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and her grandfather Prince Charles twice before leaving the Kensington Palace for the royal family’s country home Anmer Hall.
Recently, the 89-year-old monarch opened up about the new arrival in their family.
“We love to have another girl,” she gushed over her new great-granddaughter (Queen Elizabeth II has three other great-granddaughters besides Princess Charlotte.)
Last week, the Prince of Wales also proudly talked about his niece, saying, “I was hoping for a granddaughter – someone to look after me when I am very old.”
Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, or Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, came into the world on May 2.
