Prince Harry jokes about missing Princess Charlotte’s christening while in Africa

Prince Charles’ youngest son could not attend his niece’s birth and baptism due to his royal engagements.

When the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte, on May 2, her uncle was on a military trip, and when she was christened on July 5 he was already in Africa for his three months of conservation projects.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Prince Harry joked about not being able to attend his niece’s christening during a discussion with the conservation workers.

Simson Uri-Khob, the boss of Save The Rhino, told the publication that the British royal joked about his absence, saying: “What a bad uncle I am! I should really be there. But today I am here, this is where I want to be.”

The prince also talked about the difficulties of dating while in the company of bodyguards.

“We asked him asked what about if you’re with a girlfriend. Are they around then?” Uri-Khob also said. The Queen’s grandson, 30, responded: “Unfortunately yes, more than ever. But I know how to handle that.”

A member of the Canadian bagpipe band designed the plaid pinafore dress and the gift was given to Kate and William’s 4-month-old baby girl.

The outfit was handed to the little princess during one of her recent visits to her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, as The Sons of Scotland Pipe Band performed at Balmoral Castle for the Queen.

Bethany Bisaillion, a band member, talked with Canada AM about the pinafore dress, saying that it is made of “Maple Leaf” tartan, which matches the Scottish theme.

“We hope that she gets it in time that she doesn’t grow out of it!” Bisaillion said.

Princess Charlotte has been pampered with plenty of gifts since she came into the world on May 2.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter was gifted with a painting of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for her christening by “someone very close to the family,” an American-made Amish rocking chair and a personalized Alpaca baby blanket from First Lady Michelle Obama, a personalized shirt from the England Lionesses football team, a snowsuit and an immunization donation from Canadian Health Minister Rona Ambrose and Laureen Harper, the wife of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, a little summer dress from President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin and the list goes on.

The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, and her husband Prince William will tour alone in 2016, People magazine writes.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Kate and William would take their children in the Caribbean tour next year. The publication also wrote that the tour is set to take place in February or March.

The duo is expected to visit The British Virgin Islands, The Bahamas and The Cayman Islands.

The royal couple visited New Zealand and Australia in 2014, and Prince George joined them at the time. William and Kate have also toured Southeast Asia, New York, Canada and Los Angeles.

Further official detalis about Kate and William’s upcoming tour haven’t been released yet.

Kate Middleton will reportedly join Prince William on Caribbean tour next year

According to the Daily Mail, who broke the news that the royal mother-of-two, 33, is planning to join her husband on the tour which might take place in February or March, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also take their children, Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, nearly 4 months old.

For Prince George it will be the second tour, as the little prince visited Australia and New Zealand in 2014.

The publication also wrote that Kate and William will likely visit The British Virgin Islands, The Bahamas and The Cayman Islands.

The Duchess recently missed the wedding of Prince William’s old friend Bear Maclean with Daisy Dickson, and rumors were sparked regarding the reason why she chose not to show up at the event.

Kate has skipped several weddings lately, with her last public appearance being at polo player Mark Tomlinson’s nuptials with Olympic equestrian Laura Bechtolsheimer in 2013.

The reason for her absence hasn’t been revealed, but it could be the fact that the Duchess might want to stay with the couple’s two children.

Kate Middleton’s lace dress back on sale, the duchess wore it at Royal Variety Performance last year

According to HELLO! magazine, online shopping company Rue La La put the lace dress worn by Kate Middleton in November 2014 at the Royal Variety Performance back on sale for a limited time.

Duchess Kate, who at that time was pregnant with her second child, looked ravishing in the Diane von Furstenberg “Zarita ” lace dress.

In the video below, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge meet One Direction while at the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium.

It isn’t the first time that a dress worn by Kate is back on sale.

Last month, the duchess’ engagement dress was available on the market again, as Issa London announced that fashionistas could purchase the navy robe. As anticipated, the iconic engagament dress was immediately sold out.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have been given permission to build a new tennis court at Anmer Hall

Prince William and Kate Middleton, who have often been spotted at Wimbledon watching the matches from their seats in the Royal Box, submitted an application to the borough council a few months ago in order to revamp Anmer Hall tennis court.

According to the Daily Mail, the royal couple received permission to build a £60,000 AstroTurf tennis court, which will replace the existing one.

The new AstroTurf tennis court is set to be located in an “area of undeveloped garden.”

Kate and William settled down with their two young children at their 10-bedroom country estate, Anmer Hall, which was a wedding present from the Queen, back in May, a few days after the duchess gave birth to their daughter, Princess Charlotte.

Kate Middleton didn’t cancel recent wedding, the Duchess of Cambridge wasn’t expected to appear

According to People magazine, Kate Middleton declined the invitation to attend the nuptials from the start. Thus, the duchess wasn’t on the wedding list and she wasn’t expected to show up.

Recently, a source told the Daily Mail that Duchess Kate “had been expected to attend,” and that “the names William and Catherine Wales were written on the plan, which appeared on an antique-looking mirror.”

Prince William went with his sister-in-law, Pippa Middleton, at his friend’s wedding, which took place on Saturday in Thurlestone, Devon. Bear Maclean was among the guests present at the royal couple’s wedding in 2011.

It is likely that the royal couple doesn’t want to outshine the bride and groom on a day so important to them, as veteran royals photographer Mark Stewart believes.

“They do become the center of attention,” the photographer told People. “Suddenly you can have 200 members of the public in a churchyard and that changes the dynamics.”

“They didn’t like the idea of upstaging the bride and groom – they wanted it to be about the couple getting married and not themselves,” Stewart added.

Another reason could be that Kate wants to stay with their two young children, Princess Charlotte, nearly 4 months, and Prince George, who turned 2 last month.

The Duke of Cambridge opened up about their adorable children in an interview with Sky News last month.

“It has been fantastic and she has been a little joy of heaven. But at the same time it is more responsibility, looking after two little ones, especially when George is around. He’s a little monkey,” the royal father-of-two said.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, attended the nuptials of the Duke’s cousin Zara Philips with Mike Tindall in 2011, and she also accompanied her husband in 2013 at polo player Mark Tomlinson’s wedding to Olympic equestrian Laura Bechtolsheimer, which marked her last appearance at such events.

Kate missed a few weddings, as William showed up solo or with his brother Prince Harry, which was also the case at the wedding of his friend Thomas van Staubenzee with Lady Melissa Percy back in 2013.

Kelly Clarkson is pregnant with her second child

The former American Idol winner, 33, revealed the news about her second pregnancy on Wednesday night, during a concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“I was not planning on announcing this, but … I’m totally pregnant,” she told the crowd during her performance of “Piece by Piece.”

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock got married in October 2013, and they are already parents to daughter River Rose, 14 months.

Blackstock is also dad to daughter Savannah and son Seth from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth White.
