More women are requesting makeup and hair styling in the delivery room

That was thanks to the duchess’ beauty, but also to the team present at St Mary’s Hospital, that included her hairstylist Amanda Cook Tucker and colorist Richard Ward.

Photos and videos showing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their newborn daughter outside the hospital appeared on social networks, mostly because the birth was announced on Twitter.

Duchess Kate looked fresh, simply glowing, with perfect hair and makeup.

Joel Warren, co-founder of the Warren Tricomi salon, talked to TODAY about the new mothers who want to look good for their big moment and to share pictures of their babies with friends and family as soon as their children come into the world.

“We always see that one picture where the mother is in bed holding the baby,” Tricomi told TODAY. “And there’s no reason to look awful at that moment, when you can look good so easily.”

In 2014, TODAY anchor Savannah Guthrie shared several post-baby pictures of her newborn daughter Vale, in which she wasn’t wearing any makeup and she looked amazing.

“Honestly, it didn’t even cross my mind to have fixed-up hair and makeup. I figured everyone would be looking at little Vale, anyway. She is the star of the pictures, after all,” she told TODAY Parents.

Recently, Lisa Schavrien, an obstetric nurse navigator at Lenox Hill Hospital, talked with the New York Times about the mothers-to-be who want to look good in the photos taken after their babies’ arrival.

“We have a lot of patients who have had a long labor, and they are like, ‘O.K., I want cool pictures of me and my baby,’” she told the New York Times.

Dolled up or not, all women look great after giving birth thanks to the feeling of happiness that makes them so beautiful.
