The reason for her absence at the wedding of estate agent Bear Maclean and Daisy Dickson, which took place in Thurlestone, Devon, over the weekend, is not known. The Duchess may have decided to stay with the couple’s two young children, Princess Charlotte, who will turn 4 months on September 2, and Prince George, who turned 2 on July 22.
According to the Daily Mail, Duchess Kate didn’t show up at the friend’s nuptial, and her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, was joined on Saturday by his sister-in-law, Pippa Middleton.
“The names William and Catherine Wales were written on the plan, which appeared on an antique-looking mirror,” a source told the publication. “They were due to sit at the top table. Kate had been expected to attend.”
“No one knows why,” said the source. “Everyone was talking about it over breakfast the next morning. They stayed on the next day and night, too, attending lunch in the marquee together. The plan was for everyone to go and do a river estuary swim afterwards.”
Back in July, Prince William praised his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, in an interview with Sky News, and also talked about their adorable two children.
“It has been fantastic and she has been a little joy of heaven. But at the same time it is more responsibility, looking after two little ones, especially when George is around. He’s a little monkey,” William said.
“It is fantastic having a lovely little family and I am so thrilled. And Catherine has been doing an amazing job as a mother and I’m very proud of her,” the Duke added.
In the same interview the Duke of Cambridge addressed the idea of having a third child.
“We’ve only just had the second one. You never know what is going to happen in the future,” he said.
