The Lotus Flower Tiara worn by Kate Middleton at the event on Tuesday at the Buckingham Palace was first worn by Queen Elizabeth’s mother in the 1920s.

The royal mother-of-two also wore the sparkling tiara in December 2013 at a reception for diplomats at Buckingham Palace.

Elizabeth Emanuel, a co-designer of Princess Diana’s wedding dress, has given her opinion on the choice made by Duchess Kate regarding the color of the dress.

“Red is very important as a statement in itself as it matches the color of the Chinese flag and it means good fortune,” Emanuel said, according to People.

Kate also accessorized her Jenny Packham red gown with diamond drop earrings and two bracelets.
