Sandra Bullock revealed to People magazine that she is mother again, as the Oscar-winning actress, 51, has adopted a baby girl named Laila.
The little girl is three and a half years old and she was previously under foster care in Louisiana.
“When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here,” the actress told the magazine.
She added, “I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time.”
Bullock is also a mom to son Louis, 5, whom she adopted from New Orleans in 2010.
The process of adoption lasted three years, and the mother-of-two explained that the main focus was to protect her daughter, which is why she didn’t come out with the adoption until it was finalized.
“You feel it’s very much like witness protection,” she told the magazine.
She continued, “Unbeknownst to me, a photographer had followed us and taken a photo of us in line.”
“The next day, I learned that a photo of her was being shopped around for sale to every outlet around the world. I had promised and legally agreed to protect her from something like this, and here I was chasing down lawyers — having them begging them to keep her safe,” the actress explained.
Rumors that the actress has expanded her family by adopting a baby girl appeared in October. When congratulated by a reporter during an interview, several weeks after the adoption speculation emerged, Bullock replied, “there’s only one adopted child in my household and his name is Louis.”
People magazine’s photos were taken by the actress’ boyfriend, photographer Bryan Randall.
Congratulations to Sandra Bullock!
