Downton Abbey actors talk about Kate Middleton’s visit on the set this spring

During her visit, Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s mother, 33, toured the studios where she met the crew and cast members.

The royal met the designers of the spectacular costumes, and she was very impressed by the kitchen on the set as she “spent the longest time” there.

Last week, several actors from the British series, Michelle Dockery, Allen Leech and Kevin Doyle, talked with People about Duchess Kate’s visit on the set.

“The energy on set was just amazing, it was magic,” Dockery told the magazine. She also recounted how she and Kate laughed over the fact that both the Duchess and Dockery’s character have a son named George.

“There was a moment when I said to her, ‘It’s funny, isn’t it? He’s called George and…. the future king!’ That conincidence she finds funny, too,” the 34-year-old actress said.

The Palace posted photos of Kate from her visit.

In another interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live on December 10, Michelle Dockery revealed, when asked about Catherine’s perfume, that the royal smells “like roses.”
