Kate Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry welcome Barack and Michelle Obama at the Palace

The President and First Lady of the United States arrived at the Palace at 7.15pm on Friday night, and chatted with the royals before having a private dinner.

The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, wore an L.K. Bennett’s Addison printed silk dress, while First Lady Michelle Obama chose a nude ensemble for the occasion.

The Obamas were also greeted by Prince George who was dreesed in pajamas. The Palace released adorable photos of George, 2, meeting the President and the First Lady. At that time, Princess Charlotte was already asleep.

“George stayed up for a few minutes when the President and the First Lady arrived, but Charlotte was in bed,” a royal source said.

First Lady Michelle Obama sat down for tea with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace during her visit to the United Kingdom in June. The 31-year-old royal and Obama “discussed their shared interest in support for veterans and their families.”

Michelle Obama gifted Charlotte with an American-made Amish rocking chair and a personalized Alpaca baby blanket, while George recevied a Berlin Flyer P-Wee Wagon.
