The royal couple went to Luton, in the north of London, where they visited charities that support young people and talked about mental health and emotional wellbeing.
During a visit to Youthscape on Wednesday, August 24, William joined several teenagers who were playing a computer game and talked to the youngsters about how the organization can help them cope in difficult times.
The Prince also took time to comfort an orphan who lost his mother to cancer last year and gave him advice based on his own experience.
“Time makes it easier,” he told 14-year-old Ben Hines. “I know how you feel. I still miss my mother every day – and it’s 20 years after she died.”
“The important thing is to talk about it as a family. It’s OK to feel sad, it’s OK for you to miss her,” he added.
The Duke also asked the boy, his brothers and their father to keep talking to each other.
“As four boys, you have to talk a lot better – we’re not good sharers. It’s a classic example of lots of talking needed,” he said.
William was 15 when Princess Diana died in 1997 in a car crash in Paris.
On Thursday the royal couple visited the Young Minds helpline, one of the eight charity partners of their mental health campaign Heads Together.
Kate opened up about her and William’s concerns as parents of Prince George and Prince Charlotte.
“We are parents ourselves, I am sure we will face worries — we do face worries, because we’ve got small young children. If those worries escalate, how vital it is to get support — and you are providing that support,” she said.
The Duchess also stressed the importance of asking for help and the fact that there’s no shame in doing so.
“As a parent and as a mother, having that feeling that there is somebody there that is non-judgmental, that can provide the professional support, and that can really provide helping hand at a really difficult time,” she explained.
“It’s totally fine to talk about it, to seek help, and speak out,” William added. “Because we’re not all superheroes and there’s a lot of pressure on parents. Most of it is self-made, from parents themselves, where you feel you have to handle everything. You have to show strength and resilience to everything. But there are sometimes when it all gets to be too much and you need to reach out and that’s totally fine.”
For the occasion Kate chose a red dress from one of her favorite luxury brands, LK Bennett.
Catherine recently held a speech in which she revealed that she and her husband “wouldn’t hesitate” to seek help for George and Charlotte’s mental health if needed.
The Duchess of Cambridge
During an official visit with Prince William at the Youthscape project in Luton on Wednesday, Catherine toured the facility’s kitchen.
When entering the kitchen, a delicious scent delighted her and she confessed that this kind of cooking was simply impossible in the presence of her son.
“So, what are you making? This smells seriously good,” Kate asked the teens who were preparing some chocolate crispy cakes. “What are you putting in? Is this just chocolate? Golden syrup? Good, good.”
“When I try to do this with George at home, chocolate and the golden syrup goes everywhere. He makes so much mess. It’s chaos,” she said. [via People]
And it’s not just sweets that little George loves to play with. According to a mother from the Keech hospice where the couple went later in the day, “George likes his spaghetti as well, he’d love to get messy.”
The Duchess also revealed some of her childhood memories. Seeing some young people playing the card game Uno, she explained that this was one of her family’s favorite games and that she regularly played it with James and Pippa, her brother and sister.
The royals enjoyed some sweet treats and praised the young people for their delicious baking skills.
“Congratulations to Team GB on your record-breaking success at Rio 2016,” their joint statement read.
“We have really enjoyed following your achievements across such a wide variety of sports during the last two weeks. London 2012 was a hard act to follow, but you have made the entire country proud of everything you have accomplished,” they said. “You should arrive home knowing that you have delighted millions of people across the Home Nations, many of whom have stayed up late, night after night, to share in your celebrations.”
Prince Harry, Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton acknowledged the athletes’ inspiration for both young and old.
“We all know that this success does not come easy and is the culmination of years of hard work, passionate commitment, sheer grit and determination. You are an inspiration to us all, young and old. To everyone associated with Team GB – well done! We hope you have all enjoyed the experience as much as we have back home.”
Also, Harry congratulated his friend Usain Bolt and wished him a happy birthday.
The two men met during an official visit made by the Prince to Jamaica to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth in March 2012. Harry jokingly beat him by jumping the gun in a race.
“Congratulations @usainbolt – now you’re officially the greatest you might be ready for a re-run. Happy 30th – H,” the royal wrote.
In response to the official invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the dates and itinerary for the royal couple’s eight-day tour of Canada have been unveiled by the Kensington Palace on Twitter.
The tour will debut on September 24 and will include the royals’ first official visit to British Colombia and Yukon.
William and Kate will meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Governor General of Canada David Johnston and his wife, Sharon Johnston.
The Palace didn’t specify whether Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, 15 months, will accompany their parents on the trip.
The pair’s last visit to Canada dates back to 2011, which marked their first trip across the seas as a couple.
The latest leaked information shows that the camera sensor on the smaller iPhone model will have optical image stabilization, or OIS or for short.
The photo was published by French site Nowhereelse.fr, which is typically a relatively reliable source when it comes to iPhone rumors.
The image shows a comparison between the camera modules on previous iPhone generations and the one on the new iPhone.
The camera module on the iPhone 7 features small mechanisms which stabilize the lens, which helps to take clearer images.
According to recent speculation, the release date for Apple’s next smartphone has reportedly been pushed to September 23.
The pair will meet local organizations, businesses and charities during their visit on September 1 and 2, Kensington Palace has announced.
“The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward visiting Cornwall and the Scilly Isles. Stay tuned for updates on the day!” the Palace added.
Prince William and the Duchess, née Kate Middleton will look at different projects of the Duchy of Cornwall which covers nearly 53,000 hectares of land across 23 counties. It also includes the Isles of Scilly.
Their visit will include meeting young surfers at The Wave Project on Newquay beach, where surf is practiced as means of reducing anxiety in children, and a tour of the sub-tropical Tresco Abbey Garden on the Isles of Scilly.
Next week the royal couple is set to carry out a day of engagements in Luton, Bedfordshire.
Just a few weeks before the iPhone 7 launch a document provided by AT&T provides a valuable indication of its release date.
iPhone 7 rumors have already claimed that the Apple keynote would take place on September 7, with pre-orders opening on September 9 and the launch in stores on September 16.
A leaked internal document from US operator AT&T and obtained by 9to5Mac contains details about merchandising reset hours.
The leak shows a memo indicating that employees will take care of the reorganization of the stores on September 9 and 23.
This could mean that pre-orders are set for September 9 and the device could hit store shelves on September 23 in the US.
The new iPhone could be available in space black, besides gold and rose gold.
Rumors and leaks have been circulating on social networks for some time now, alleging that Apple is planning to offer the smartphone in a new color variant.
Now the rumored Space Black version of the iPhone 7 seems to have leaked on the web [via TechTastic].
The device is photographed from the front, back and side and is labeled as an “S” variant.
Its design is very similar to that of the iPhone 6s, with the difference that the headphones jack is missing, and there is a dual camera sensor on the back.
The presence of a Smart Connector and repositioned antenna lines can also be noticed.
The official unveiling of the new Apple flagship model is expected to take place on September 7.
Twitter user The Malignant has posted a photo in which the logic boards of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 are compared.
Citing an unverified Chinese source, the same user also alleges that the next iPhone will feature “at least” five volt two amp charging.
Current iPhone models come with a 1A / 5W charger but their batteries can charge faster using the 2.1A / 12W adapter supplied with the iPad.
If this new feature is confirmed, the iPhone 7 would charge faster even than using the current iPad adapter.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be presented on September 7 but will allegedly offer little changes compared to the iPhone 6s.
