Prince George and Princess Charlotte steal the show at children’s party in Canada

The royal couple’s Canada tour has begun over a week ago and until now, George and Charlotte have only made a single public appearance.

On Thursday morning William and Kate took their two kids, aged 3 and 17 months, to a party for the children of Canadian military families at British Columbia’s Government House in Victoria.

Water guns, giant bubbles, balloons, pony rides and a visit to a small farm were all part of their play date.

George got the chance to straddle a pony, under his father’s watchful eye, before descending quickly to head to children’s entertainer Paul Kilshaw who made balloon animals for the kids.

Heading straight for a balloon arch, Charlotte caught one of them and could be heard saying “Pop!”, marking the first time she says a word in public.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “The Duke and Duchess are really pleased to have this opportunity to introduce their children to Canada and it’s great that they have the chance to play with other children while they are here.”
