A TV drama will soon be devoted to the events happening in the British royal palace.
According to the report, the BBC2 drama is a co-production based on the award-winning play King Charles III.
The fictional work speaks of an imaginary future in which Queen Elizabeth II dies and her son Charles becomes king, addressing the relationship of all members of the Royal Family beyond their titles.
British actress Charlotte Riley was the choice for the role of the Duchess of Cambridge.
The 34-year-old is already known to viewers from the serial adaptation of Emily Brontë’s “Wuthering Heights” or from season two of the crime show “Peaky Blinders”. She is also the wife of The Revenant actor Tom Hardy.
“It’s such a unique project. To be both modern and rich in verse and to play someone who is real but yet totally re-imagined for this story is an exciting prospect for an actor,” Riley has said, according to BBC.
“Kate Middleton is a really interesting woman, particularly within the context of this play, and it is a challenge I am really looking forward to.”
King Charles is played by Tim Pigott-Smith, who also played the role in the same play that the film is based on.
