Angelina Jolie in Haiti

Goodwill Ambassador of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the actress, Angelina Jolie visited yesterday the SOS NGO Village for children in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

According to recent reports, it seems that three million Haitians have been left homeless or injured by the 7.0 earthquake on January 12.

Rumors say that the actress also visited the Doctors Without Borders hospital in the Delmas neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, which remembers us the $1 million donation that Angelina and Brad made for Haitians.

When Angelina arrived in the Haitian capital, she was briefed by the United Nations Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Edmond Mulet, on the scale of the humanitarian operation to date and the challenges that remain.

Brad Pitt’s lover also visited a cash-for-work program run by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in the Carrefour district of Port-au-Prince, which is enabling Haitians to earn an income as they help their country to recover.

There, Angelina Jolie declared : “To give people the ability to work towards their own future is so important at this time. It helps to restore their hope and respects their dignity.”
