Cayenne S Hybrid the most economic Porsche ever

The new Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid will debut at Geneva with 375 HP, offered by a new V6 and an electrical engine also. It can reach in 6,5 seconds a 100 km/h a with a 6.8 1/100 km consumption.

It seems the hybrid will debut with the new generation of the only SUV of Porsche’s entire history and will learn from VW experience in alternative propulsion.

Under the hood will be the unit of V6 of 3.0 liters by Audi, capable to offer 325 HP and a couple of 440Nm. The six cylinders engine will be assisted by an electric engine of 50 HP and 250 Nm, which offers a total of 375 HP with 20 HP over Cayenne S offered with V8 unit of 4.8 liters.

Thanks to lithium-ion batteries, Cayenne Hybrid can cover a distance of only ¹ km in electric mode, without crossing the speed of 50 km/h. There will be used a Torsen system of traction, a lot easier and compact, similar to those on Audi Q7.

The novelty of hybrid chassis is in fact the function which disengages the automatic 8 reports gearbox when is not use pressure on speeding , available when speeding is under 157 km/h. This function is called navigation and helps reducing fuel consumption.
