George Michael, arrested after he crashed his car into a shop in London
George Michael was arrested by London police after the car he was driving on Monday morning, hit the facade of a shop in London.

The singer was caught on tape by London police surveillance cameras while hitting his Range Rover into Snappy Snaps photo shop in Hampstead, a neighborhood in northern British city, in the early hours of Monday.
After the collision, George Michael left the car and waited for the police crews to arrive. George Michael told police that he hasn’t consumed any alcohol. According to the Daily Mirror publication, he was tested for drugs and alcohol at a police station in north London.
Police found no drugs in the British star’s car. He was released on bail, and will appear before a London court for trial on August 13. This is the seventh time that George Michael who publicly admited that he is a constant consumer of cannabis, is being investigated by British police for causing a traffic accident. In 2009, George Michael was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after his Land Rover collided with a truck on the A34 motorway in Berkshire County.
In June 2007, Michael had his driving license revoked for a period of two years after he admitted during a trial that he drove under the influence of drugs. He was questioned at the time for damaging three cars and that he fled from the scene.
George Michael was arrested twice for possession of cannabis. Moreover, in recent years, the singer was arrested several times for having been caught asleep at the wheel because the use of drugs or alcohol.
Snappy Snaps shop is close to Hampstead Heath – a gay bar where George Michael was caught while having sex, three years ago – but also to his residence in Highgate neighborhood.
The artist was also arrested in April 1998, for indecent acts in a public toilet in Los Angeles. After the incident, Michael ended years of speculation about his sexual orientation, announcing publicly that he is gay. Following the “event” Michael wrote a song “Outside”, whose lyrics and video were inspired by the toilet incident.
In 2006, George Michael, who has sold over 80 million albums with hits like “Careless Whisper” and “Faith”, has angered representatives of health charities in the UK after giving a television interview during which he smoked cannabis and said: “This thing helps me beeing healthy and happy”.
