GM and Saab leaders had a telephone meeting in which they discussed about the Swedish manufacturer closing. During it, U.S. officials have not brought it up on the Spyker offer .

Despite the efforts made by the Swedish Government and by the Dutch manufacturer Spyker, GM wishes to close Saab gates. These information are coming from a Swedish newspaper, which offers details about the meeting between Saab Counsel of Administration, but also about their discussions with GM. “ Saab officials had a short meeting, and several GM representatives took part in discussion by telephone. The entire discussion was about closing Saab” .

Haakan Danielsson said that closing Saab will take a few years and also that that Swedish Government was very distrustful about the Spyker success so they started closing Saab.

Also, Maud Olofsson, the minister for companies and energy said that he will make new jobs for those who leave after closing Saab by providing funds of 59.19 mil. Euros.
Rumor say that GM was in fact not interested to sell Saab and the Americans only wanted to close the manufacturer to avoid an eventual concurrent.
These information were challenged by Haakan Danielsson : “ GM wants to sell Saab. It’s much better to receive money than to pay the coasts of closing the company.” Concerning Spyker, Victor Muller declared that is very hard to work because they are being pressed for time.
