Mitsubishi could offer a small class model of the Peugeot / Citroen, the three producers trying to work more closely.

Mitsubishi plans to introduce a new model, called “global small car” in 2011, with price close to €9500. The Japanese producer’s decision is part of a large program to develop green vehicles, this having the chance to be developed in collaboration with PSA.

Japanese newspaper Asahi says that Mitsubishi plans to deliver the new model of small class to PSA. This was confirmed by partially by Mitsubishi spokesman, Tetsuji Inoue, who said that Peugeot would be one of the brands of which range the new model of small class will appear.

This wouldn’t be the first collaboration of this kind between Mitsubishi and PSA, the range of SUVs Outlander, C-Crosser and 4007 being made after an identical pattern. This time, however, Mitsubishi management says the new partnership may also include links of capital level.
