Princess Victoria’s wedding aroused Swedish indignation

The wedding of Princess Victoria of Sweden with her former fitness trainer, Daniel Westling, it bothers its compatriots, which do not agree with the huge amount of money used for the wedding from the state treasury.

In order to organize what experts in Gotha considers to be the most pageant ceremony since that of Charles to Diana, will be paid 10.4 million euros, of which only some are paid by King Carl XVI Gustaf. Officially, the ceremony costs 2.6 million euros.

The budget covers the ceremony and the celebrations: the transport costs of the 1.100 guests, the welcoming of international press, the buffet, the planning staff and the Royal Palace decoration.

Besides those 2.6 million euros are added other 8 million euros which will be paid by the state, so the taxpayers.

Therefore, the renovation of the Stockholm cathedral and the future palace of the bride, the wedding day security and a two weeks Love Stockholm Festival aroused people’s indignation.
