One of the farewell car editions of the Bugatti Veyron could receive under the body a total of 1,200 horsepower, squeezed from the same 8.0-liter W16 engine.
Ferdinand Piech, the chairman of the board of Volkswagen Group, recently held a speech at the University of Vienna, during which he made references to a potential “performance version” of the Bugatti.
Currently, the W16 of 8-liter engine is capable of delivering 1001 horsepower, but there were rumors about the untapped potential of the unity.
The engineers argue that it can squeeze a total capacity of at least 1,200 horses, resources which would have radically influence the supercar’s performance and would further push the speed limit which Veyron can currently reach: 407 km / h.
