Lexus has been chosen as official supplier of Prince Albert of Monaco. The LS600h model will drive His Highness to his wedding to Charlene Wittstock.

Lexus has been chosen as official supplier of His Highness, Prince Albert II of Monaco. The collaboration between the Princely House of Monaco and Lexus Europe will debut at the wedding of the Prince with Miss Charlene Wittstock, on 2 July 2011, when His Royal Highness will be driven in a Lexus LS 600h.

Albert of Monaco is one of the leaders working to save the environment. The Prince Albert of Monaco Foundation was established in 2006 and it has over 150 ongoing projects monitoring the effects of global warming on the environment and endangered species.

Prince Albert of Monaco Foundation provides support in managing water resources in developing regions, and Prince Albert has defined a set of actions in order to ensure a sustainable mobility and urged the government to develop a long term plan which would focus on reducing the environmental effects of vehicles.

Lexus says the company is honored to have been chosen by Prince Albert of Monaco to help achieve his objectives. In coming years, Lexus will only have hybrid propulsion, no longer offering versions of equipment that had only internal combustion engines. At present, the percentage of hybrids in the Lexus range is 60% for the LS range, 50% for the GS range and 70% for the RX range.

In addition, the Japanese manufacturer has launched the first compact hybrid premium – CT200h.
