In the period between January and June 2011 Mercedes managed to sell a record of 610,531 cars.

Mercedes has recorded the best financial results ever with sales of up to 120,510 cars in June, marking a rise of 6.4% compared to the same month last year, when 113,297 units were delivered.

The sales recorded in the three months between April and June of this year counted 329,979 cars, by 7.9% more than the same period of 2010. Thanks to these positive results, Mercedes announced its best half-year yet, with sales of 610,531 units.

The Chinese market, where sales rose by 52.3 percent to 92,714 cars delivered in January-June, was an important contributor to the German manufacturer’s success. The brand is having plans for the future as they are preparing the production of a GLK created especially for the Chinese market. Mercedes officials hope to sell 300,000 units per year starting from 2015.

In addition, Mercedes managed to remain the best-selling premium brand in June in its own country as well. Also, the C-Klasse and S-Klasse models have managed to maintain leadership in the segments they represent.
