TAG Heuer launches a watch to celebrate 100th anniversary of Indy 500

TAG Heuer has launched a watch to celebrate the centenary of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” the Indy 500. the Limited Edition Indy 500 Centennial Chronograph will be manufactured in only 1,000 copies. One of them will be given to the winner of the May 29 race, so customers will be able to buy only 999 copies. The watch costs 1,650 dollars, a good price for a limited edition TAG Heuer.

The casing is made of steel and has a 44 mm diameter. The watch is water resistant to a depth of up to 200 meters and is fitted with either a steel bracelet or a rubber strap. The Indi 500 Centennial model is based on TAG Heuer Formula 1 model and presents a number of elements which distinguishes it from that watch. The first is a grey Brickyard-motif dial, with the Indy 500 logo located in the central square.

TAG Heuer was the first watchmaker who managed to make cronograph luxury watches that can accurately measure 1 / 10, 1 / 100, 1/1.000 and 1/10.000 of a second. Since the 1920 Olympics, TAG Heuer is the “official timekeeper” and the brand has been playing this role in Formula 1 since the 1990s.
