After Elizabeth Taylor, Zsa Zsa Gabor fears being “the next” to die

Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, 94, fears being “the next” to die in Hollywood since she learned of the death of former neighbor and longtime friend Elizabeth Taylor.

“She was very upset when she saw her picture on telelvision — and it was all over television,” her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, said. “Over the years, famous people always die in threes and she said, ‘Well, it’s me now.’”

Her blood pressure soared and because of recommendations of her doctors, she was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Gabor was hospitalized several times in recent months because of complications related to the surgery on her hip that she suffered on July 19 after falling from her bed at her home in California.

During one of her stays in hospital, the actress had asked to see a priest and receive the last rites after refusing a new operation recommended by doctors.

Her health has deteriorated since. On January 14, Zsa Zsa Gabor had her right leg partially amputated. In early March she was hospitalized again for circulation problems in her left leg, but she refused categorically that she would also have the leg amputated.

In 2002, Zsa Zsa Gabor was the victim of a serious road accident which left her partially paralyzed. She also suffered a stroke three years later.

The Hungarian-born actress, who played in movies like Moulin Rouge (1952), The Girl in the Kremlin (1957) and Touch of Evil (1958) was particularly famous for her nine marriages, her flamboyant personality and financial problems.
