Alec Baldwin in the race for mayor of New York?

Actor Alec Baldwin is thinking of the possibility run for mayor of his hometown, New York.

If the Democrats now find themselves lacking a candidate for mayor of New York, the fault lies with Anthony Weiner who has created a scandal by admitting he had lied in denying that he sent intimate images to a student on Twitter.

This could be the reason that pushed Alec Baldwin to consider entering politics and candidate for the elections of 2013 as a Democrat, succeeding the city’s current mayor, Michael Bloomberg.

Earlier this week, the 30 Rock star wrote on Twitter that it’s still “a long way till November of 2013″ and posted a link to the song “New York, New York.”

Baldwin’s rep confirmed that his candidacy was a possibility.
