Ashton Kutcher lands on Two And A Half Men as Charlie Sheen’s character is killed

Monday night saw the official launch of the TV season without Charlie Harper.

Ashton Kutcher’s arrival on the show was highly anticipated, but the series has exceeded all expectations by achieving a fantastic audience: 27.7 million Americans watched the episode, 13 million more than the audience that tuned in for the first episode of season 8 last year.

The episode started with the funeral scene, where every woman Charlie had ever had a serious relationship with was present in the chapel. His new wife Rose explained how he fell off a metro platform the day after she found out about his infidelity.

“I forgave him because I loved him unconditionally, so you can imagine my horror when the very next day he slipped on the metro platform and fell in front of an oncoming train,” she said.

“I just want you to know that Charlie didn’t suffer. His body just exploded like a balloon full of meat.”

Ashton Kutcher then takes Charlie’s place on the show, playing millionaire Walden Schmidt who has just been dumped and attempted suicide in the ocean.

As Walden ends up soaking wet on the deck of Alan Harper’s Malibu beach house, the two men start bonding and eventually decide to go out for drinks.
