The actor seems to have his eyes not only on an Oscar, but also a seat in the Senate.

In an interview with Face the Nation’s Bob Schieffer, Affleck did not rule out launching into politics and holding office in the U.S. Senate.

Asked if he would ever run for Senate, his answer was ambiguous: ” One never knows,” causing speculation that he will enter the political arena.

The actor thus hinted that he is interested in a career in politics, but declined to go into details.

He continued: “I’m not one to get into conjecture. I do have a great fondness and admiration for the political process in this country, it’s a big deal for me to come down here and be on your show that I’ve watched so much. But I’m not going to get into speculation about my political future.”

“I’m really happy being involved from the outside in government, advocating for the Congolese. As Hillary Clinton said, [Iran is] the most pressing foreign policy issue today. So, I got a lot on my plate,” he added.

Face the Nation is set to air on CBS Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
