The actor tried to rectify recent comments he made in an interview with Parade.

Last week, Brad Pitt made headlines for his comments regarding his previous marriage to Jennifer Aniston.

“All I know is that my point was, the best thing I’d done as a father is be sure that my kids have a good mother,” he tells Matt Lauer in an interview scheduled to air on the Today show Thursday.

“I don’t want [people] to say anything bad like that about Jen. She’s a dear friend of mine,” he continues.

“That’s all I was, or am, trying to say. It has no reference to the past. And I think it’s a shame that I can’t say something nice about Angie without Jen being drug in. You know, she doesn’t deserve it,” he said.

In addition, during another new interview that is also set to air Thursday, this time with Ellen DeGeneres, Pitt also discusses how he and partner Angelina Jolie manage to raise their six children together and find time for themselves, despite having a hectic schedule.

“We carve out ‘Mommy, Daddy’ time,” he says. “It’s called a hotel.”

The actor reveals that his home life isn’t too different from the madhouse in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

“That’s morning time in our house,” he says.
