During Monday night’s Moneyball premiere in Oakland the actor took the opportunity to respond to critics who have attacked him on comments he recently made about his past marriage.
In a recent interview with parade Pitt suggested that his marriage to the Friends star affected his career in the 90’s and that the union wasn’t what it appeared to be.
“I think that my marriage had something to do with it,” he said. “Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”
In response to those who accused him of criticizing his ex, Brad said he was misinterpreted.
“That was never my intention for it to be spun that way,” he said. “People read things into it that just weren’t there.”
Pitt, 47, who plays a baseball coach in the upcoming flick, recently confessed he is completely ignorant about baseball in real life.
However, that’s not the case for his eldest son Maddox.
“My son is a big baseball fan,” he said at last night’s premiere. “We went to a Yankees game and we were sitting next to the dugout. [Derek] Jeter offered him a cracked bat, and he said, ‘It’s broken!’ ”
