Charlie Sheen admits he wasn’t WINNING, would return to “Two and a Half Men”

The actor chatted with Jay Leno and Matt Lauer about his erratic behavior in the past year and admitted he was actually losing.

Six months after the media frenzy sparked by his railing against his bosses and being fired from the top-rated TV comedy, Sheen described his public meltdown as “a runaway train that I was kind of the reluctant conductor of. … It just kept going. I said some things that were a little out there … but these were just metaphors. I didn’t really believe that I had tiger blood or Adonis DNA.”

“But were you out of control?” Jay Leno asked. “Absolutely,” Charlie said.

As to what made him change, the 47-year-old admitted: “I realized I was pretty much losing!”

“I thought I could come back — kind of like you did,” he told Jay Leno, referring to his return to the Tonight Show desk.

When asked if he was still “angry” at the producers for being sacked, he jokingly answered: “No, I’d have fired my ass, too. Well, maybe not like they did.”

“I should have been a little more responsible about the condition I was showing up in,” he said.

The actor also told Leno he bears no ill towards his former castmates and even gave a nod of approval to Ashton Kutcher who replaced him in Two and a Half Men.

“It’s hard to give advice to a guy that accomplished. I would just give him a hug and just say, ‘Make me proud, dude,’” Charlie told Leno when asked if he had any advice for his replacement.

Sheen also commented on his relationship with his father, actor Martin Sheen, saying it’s “totally repaired. We’re buddies again. He’s a great guy.”

In addition, in an interview with NBC’s Today show, Charlie told host Matt Lauer that he regrets his comments about his “winning” ways and the “tiger blood” and “Adonis DNA” in his veins.

“I don’t know, the tiger blood… it was so silly and people took it so seriously and I figured, alright, I’ll continue to give the people what they want, you know?” he said.

“I couldn’t really put out the fire, so I had to keep fueling it.”

As for whether he would return to Two and a Half Men, he said, “If they thought it was a good idea … I’m completely on board for that. There was no body at the funeral … there was no urn.”
