Charlie Sheen left hospital Thursday night where he was admitted for severe abdominal pains, and has agreed to enter rehab.
The actor “has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center today,” his rep said in a statement. “He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern.”
Now that he has decided to enter e detox clinic, the sitcom Two and a Half Men in which he stars is going on hiatus. In a statement from CBS, television and executive producer Chuck Lorre said: “We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision.”
This episode adds to many other incidents of a similar nature in recent years.
Charlie Sheen destroyed the inside of his room at the Plaza Hotel in New York, according to media reports. Called to the scene, police found him there with a young woman, naked and drunk. The actor was then rushed to the hospital.
The actor also admitted last August that he had assaulted his third wife while vacationing in Aspen, Colorado and avoided prison by taking 30 days of treatment in a rehabilitation center.
