The production of the “Late Show with David Letterman” has been fooled by a prankster who claimed to represent actress Lindsay Lohan and confirmed that she was available for participating.
On Tuesday, Worldwide Pants announced that the starlet had the honor of reading the famous “Top Ten List “.
But a few hours after this announcement, which was echoed throughout the media, Lindsay Lohan denied the information on her Twitter page.
So the young woman wrote: “I am NOT going to be doing David Letterman, I’m not sure how this happened, but I am sorry for the confusion…,”
Wednesday morning, a spokesman for Letterman’s camp acknowledged that the “Late Show” had been duped.
“Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay’s reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear. Clearly, this person was not authorized to make commitments on her behalf,” Tom Keaney said in a statement.
“I hope I didn’t embarrass you Lindsay and your family,” Letterman sarcastically commented on Wednesday night.
