Drew Barrymore, who is six months pregnant with her second daughter, opened up about motherhood in an interview with ABC News’ Amy Robach.

When Robach asked Barrymore, who posed for Playboy at 19, if she would let her daughter pose for Playboy, the actress, 38, responded that she wouldn’t want her child to follow her in her footsteps: “I would not let her.”

“My life choices are not supposed to be the gateway to somebody else’s. That’s my journey,” she explained.

Drew Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman, who were married in June 2012, are parents of a baby girl Olive, 15 months, and another daughter on the way, due in March.

The actress also revealed that becoming a parent has given her a different perspective.

“I celebrate that I had any sense of freedoms at a certain point, because I don’t feel like that now,” Barrymore said.

“The best kind of parent you can be is to lead by example, and whatever I’ve experienced in my life is a part of my story and I’m proud of that. But it’s someone who wakes up early, works all day, believes in charitable work.”
