Both Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson had tumultuous lives, similar from certain points of view, in that they always sought perfection and love.

They became good friends because they understood each one.

Their friendship began in the ’80s. Despite the age difference (27 years), they were often seen together at events organized by Elizabeth Taylor in her fight against AIDS or on the red carpet.

After 79 years of life lived in full, Elizabeth Taylor passed away. She was a beautiful woman and a great actress, winner of two Oscars, for “Butterfield 8″ and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” But unfortunately her heart could no longer resist. She spent the last moments of her life with her children.

Her good friend, Michael Jackson, died at the age of 50, leaving behind a fabulous career and many grieving fans around the world.

Michael was one of the few artists that was introduced twice in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was also included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful showman of all time, with 13 Grammys to his credit, 13 number 1 singles on the charts and sales of over 750 million albums worldwide.

At his death, Elizabeth Taylor said she was “too upset” to make any statement.

Suffering from depression and emotional fatigue caused by the death of her friend Michael Jackson, Taylor was hospitalized in Los Angeles.

The actress planned to leave to UK to attend one of the concerts that Michael Jackson was going to hold at the O2 Arena in London on 13 July.

According to sources close to the actress, she was already in very poor health, being confined to a wheelchair and with nurses in attendance, and when she learned of Jackson’s death – on June 25 – she reportedly began “screaming in her house” when she heard the news.

The actress wanted to participate in ceremonies commemorating the King of Pop, but was prevented by family. “She’s suffering weakness, tiredness, exhaustion, emotional draining. She hasn’t stopped crying. She and Michael were devoted to one another,” wrote columnist Cindy Adams in the New York Post.

Although she wanted to testify in his favor during his trial for child molestation charges, she couldn’t be present due to her medical condition.

In the opinion of many of her relatives, Liz Taylor never really recovered after Jackson’s death and her health worsened.

After Jackson’s death Taylor said: “I loved Michael with all my soul and I can’t imagine life without him. We had so much in common and we had such loving fun together… He will live in my heart forever but it’s not enough. My life feels so empty. I don’t think anyone knew how much we loved each other.”

“The purest most giving love I’ve ever known. Oh God! I’m going to miss him.”

According to legend, Liz Taylor was the first to call Michael Jackson the “King of Pop.”

She was also one of his main supporters when he was accused of pedophilia.

She was buried in Forrest Lawn, the same cemetery in Los Angeles where her good friend Michael rests.

The ceremony took place only in the presence of family and close friends.

The actress’ last wishes, who once again proved her sense of humor, were noticed.

The actress once again proved her sense of humor as she had her last wishes fulfilled.

“The service was scheduled to begin at 2 pm but at Miss Taylor’s request started late. Miss Taylor had left instructions that it was to begin at least 15 minutes later than publicly scheduled, with the announcement, ’She even wanted to be late for her own funeral,’ ” her publicist said in a statement.
