Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt are the latest celebrities to join the cast of the new Disney movie “Muppets.”
The cast includes stars like Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Zach Galifianakis and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
The shooting takes place in several locations in Los Angeles and James Bobin is the director.
In the film, the dolls come together to devise a show in order to save their studio from a developer who wants to take it.
Jason Segel, who co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller, stars in the film alongside Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones.
Ricky Gervais, a popular comedian and creator of the Emmy-winning series “The Office” “Extras” and “The Ricky Gervais Show,” will present the 68th edition of the Golden Globes on January 16, 2011.
The Muppets were created by Jim Henson, in the ’70s. In 2004, Walt Disney Company purchased the program and the license for the Muppets characters.
Emily Blunt impressed critics with her role in the drama “My Summer of Love” and was nominated for a Golden Globe and BAFTA awards for “The Devil Wears Prada”. She was rewarded a Golden Globe for her role in the television feature film “Gideon’s daughter.”
