Emma Watson – unaware of Daniel Radcliffe’s drinking problem

In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Daniel Radcliffe, 21, confessed that he had a tendency to party too much and drink excessively.

“I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff,” he told the mag.

Emma didn’t know these facts as she told David Letterman on Monday night’s Late Show: “To be honest, it’s really not something that I genuinely know much about. But as far as I know, he never took a sick day. He was like the most professional, amazing guy ever.”

For her part, Emma admitted that she has her own memories of drinking: “I mean, yes, I have tried spirits! Of course, I’ve tried spirits.”

“I mean err, there are substances, whiskey… I’m dying here,” she said as she tried to avoid the question.

She then explained: “We drink at 18 in the U.K.!” adding that, “I’m actually legal to drink now in the US. It’s worth mentioning, I’m 21.”

The actress finally admitted that she and Radcliffe had a very different relationship with “controlled substances.”
